Dorothy E. Olsen, 92, of South Sioux City passed away Monday November 12, 2012 at a South Sioux City Care Center. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday at Cross Roads Church in South Sioux City with the Rev. Clyde Pritchett officiating. There will be a lunch immediately following the service at the church. Graveside services will be 2 P.M. in the City Cemetery, Obert, Nebraska. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. Thursday at the church with a prayer service at 7 P.M. under the direction of Becker - Hunt Funeral Home. Dorothy was born April 9, 1920, in Weston, Nebraska the daughter of Christian John and Ida (Schmeda) Bahm. She graduated from high school and attended one year of college. She married DeWayne “Ole” Olsen October 17, 1941 in Hartington, Nebraska. The couple farmed in the Wynot, Hartington, Ponca and Newcastle area before moving to South Sioux City. She was employed at the middle school for twelve years. The couple then returned to Obert, Nebraska and operated the “Obert Hilltop Museum”. They sold out in 1996 and returned to South Sioux City. She attended Cross Roads Church in South Sioux City. Survivors include a son David and his wife Lori Olsen of South Sioux City, three daughters: Ida and her husband Eugene Barrett of Madison, Missouri, Mary Bruder of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Christine and her husband Tom Simons of South Sioux City, thirteen grandchildren: Ed Barrett, Cindy Enright, Mike Barrett, Dana Barrett, Bob Bruder, Audrey Murphree, Steve Kloucek, Amie Murray, Sara Griffith, Jason Cook, Holly Cook, Dan Olsen and Angie Olsen, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ole on February 4, 2003, a daughter Yvonne Kloucek and a sister Frances Andersen. Pallbearers will be Ed Barrett, Bob Bruder, Jason Cook, Dan Olsen, Steve Kloucek and Vince Murray.
